Sustainability
We’re building something that lasts, in more ways than one.
Sustainability isn’t a badge we wear. It’s a set of decisions we make every time we design, source and ship a product. We’re a small brand, which means we can do this thoughtfully, without cutting corners for the sake of scale.
Here’s where we stand, and where we’re going.
Our materials
Our grip socks are made from 85% organic cotton, 12% nylon and 3% elastane. Cotton was a deliberate choice; it breathes, it lasts and it’s biodegradable at end of life. We avoid virgin synthetic fabrics wherever possible.
The silicone grip on the sole is designed to last through hundreds of washes when cared for properly, which means fewer replacements and less waste.
Our packaging
We use minimal, plastic-free packaging. Your socks arrive in a recyclable paper mailer or a small cardboard box, nothing unnecessary, nothing that ends up in landfill without good reason.
We are actively working towards fully compostable packaging across all products.
Our production
We work with manufacturers who meet ethical production standards, fair working conditions, transparent supply chains and responsible waste management. We ask questions and hold our suppliers to the same standards we hold ourselves.
Our shipping
All UK orders are shipped from within the UK, which reduces the carbon footprint of each delivery compared to international fulfilment. We use carbon-neutral shipping where available and are working towards making this standard across all orders.
Where we’re going
We’re honest about the fact that we’re not perfect yet. We’re a young brand and sustainability is an ongoing commitment, not a destination. Here’s what we’re working towards:
• 100% compostable packaging by end of 2026
• Recycled nylon in all future sock designs
• Carbon-neutral operations across the full supply chain
• A take-back programme for worn-out socks
If you have questions about our practices, please get in touch at info@wegrpd.com, we’ll always be honest with you.
